Historic Centre
The oldest area in Javea was actually once totally enclosed by walls. Over time, the people who lived there found that they didn’t need the fortifications anymore. You will know as soon as you start to enter the old town because you’ll see that the streets taper and that they follow a very irregular layout. The old houses there have whitewashed walls and it’s an incredible sight to say the least.
San-Bartolomé-Church
This monument was once composed of distinctive sandstone that was sourced from the local area. The church was constructed back when Corsairs were a threat to the town, and this really does explain the tough, almost military-style appearance. The battlements on top have holes for guns so that the area could be defended if required.
Playa de la Granadella
This location is another Blue Flag beach. It’s over 130 metres long and there are a lot of hidden coves as well. These help to shield you from the winds and it’s also ideal for stopping the sea currents too. When you go to this beach you will soon see that the waters couldn’t be calmer, and this means that it is a great place for you to go scuba diving or even snorkelling.
